Get over the nbn™ with one of our 4G Wireless Plans for $0 Upfront at Affordable Prices
Does your alarm system use the existing Telstra copper wire network (PSTN) to transmit alarm signals?
If so (this service may be being billed to you by your alarm monitoring provider as dialer or PSTN monitoring) your alarm system won’t be able to communicate with your alarm monitoring provider once Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP), Fibre-to-the-Node FTTN) and Fibre-to-the-building (FTTB) nbn™ services are connected in your area.

What haven’t you been told?
Most alarm systems can be connected to the nbn™ via an ethernet cable to your nbn™ router or using a combination of an analog to digital converter and ethernet cable. The biggest problem with this configuration is that if you lose power to your premises and your nbn™ router doesn’t have a back-up battery (and not many do) your alarm system will no longer communicate with your alarm monitoring provider.
Why should you go Wireless 4G?
We recommend that you choose a 4G service for the following reasons:
- 4G completely avoids the nbn™ – reducing the complexity of a hard wired configuration
- Compatible with most alarm systems
- Low current draw – easily powered by the alarm panel
- Plug and play alarm panel connection
