Compact PTZ Control with Smart Audio and Multi-Sensor Coverage
The AXIS M50 PTZ Camera Series gives customers a compact, cost-effective way to get active PTZ control for both general situational awareness and close-up detail, with models suited to everything from small indoor sites to larger open areas. The range includes the palm-sized M5074 and M5075 with 5x optical zoom, 12x digital zoom, autofocus and Forensic WDR for smooth overviews and quick zoom-ins, plus a built-in microphone that supports practical audio-based alerts such as scream and glass-break detection alongside motion detection analytics. For sites that need integration with smart devices, the M5075-G adds wireless I/O with Z-Wave, enabling triggers like door events that can automatically call presets and create on-screen overlays in your VMS. At the top end, M5000 and M5000-G combine three 5 MP sensors for a wide multi-directional overview with a built-in PTZ camera for detail, delivering a total 15 MP “four cameras in one” approach that Axis rates for indoor areas up to 400 m², with 10x optical zoom, Lightfinder 2.0, day/night functionality, and edge storage for simpler installs. Across the series you also get bandwidth-friendly streaming with Zipstream and H.264/H.265, plus built-in cybersecurity features such as signed OS and secure boot (model dependent), making the M50 series a strong fit for retail, office, education, and commercial environments where operators want the flexibility to actively follow incidents without the cost and complexity of larger PTZ platforms.
