Key Features

Resolution

Dual-sensor, fixed ALPR device (plate + context in one unit).

ALPR (plate) camera: 1920×1200, monochrome, global shutter, up to 30 fps.

Context (overview) camera: 1920×1200, colour, global shutter, up to 30 fps.

Capture range: 3–45 m (9–148 ft).

Lens / setup: Motorized lenses with autofocus (supports remote zoom/focus setup).

Video / images: H.264 video streaming (up to 30 fps) and JPEG still images.

Onboard storage: minimum 128 GB eMMC.

IR Illumination

Integrated pulsed LED illuminator designed for effective use in 0-lux (total darkness) environments.

Illumination wavelength options: 940 nm, 850 nm, 740 nm, 590 nm (selection depends on model/region/spec).

Dynamic Range

Not specified as a named WDR/HDR mode in the current SharpV public spec sheet.

Low-light and fast-motion performance is supported through the combination of global-shutter sensors and a pulsed LED illuminator for night/0-lux operation.

Artificial Intelligence

Intelligence at the edge: hardware-accelerated processing onboard so the camera doesn’t rely on remote servers for analysis (designed to reduce latency and limit ALPR impact on the network, while maintaining operation when connectivity is unavailable).

Machine-learning-driven vehicle insights: SharpV OS updates add/expand vehicle analytics; for example, SharpV OS 14.4.0 can provide vehicle details (e.g., colour, make, model) even when a vehicle is detected without a readable plate (instead of only returning “NOPLATE”).

Analytics

Onboard analytics can include:

Vehicle type
Vehicle colour
Speed estimation
Direction of travel
Virtual loop
Plate origin (state/country) (availability can vary by region/context)

Cybersecurity

SharpV systems use certificates for secure connectivity; integrations can require the connecting server/workstation to trust the SharpV certificate, and Sharp certificates can be downloaded from the Sharp Portal for installation into a trusted store.

HTTPS is commonly used for SharpV connectivity (with 443 typically used for HTTPS in SharpV integrations).

Casing

Outdoor-ready sealing: IP66 / IP67.

Operating temperature: -40°C to 65°C (ambient).

Humidity: up to 95% RH.

Colours: security white or black.

Weights (by variant): white non-LTE 2.31 kg, black non-LTE 2.83 kg, black LTE 3.01 kg.

Warranty

Standard warranty: 1 year (AutoVu Sharp family – cameras and processing unit).

Extended warranty (additional coverage): +4 years; SharpV cameras can have extended warranty up to +6 years (additional).

Advanced replacement / on-site repair: 90 days from product purchase (where applicable per Genetec warranty summary).

In-warranty return & repair: included (per Genetec warranty summary).

Genetec AutoVu SharpV: Fixed ALPR with Edge Intelligence

Genetec AutoVu SharpV is a rugged, fixed automatic licence plate recognition (ALPR) device that combines two onboard cameras—a 1920×1200 monochrome global-shutter ALPR sensor and a 1920×1200 colour global-shutter context sensor (both up to 30 fps)—so you capture the plate and the broader vehicle scene in one streamlined unit. It’s designed for demanding roadside and site-entry deployments, using a high-power pulsed LED illuminator for 0-lux operation (with multiple wavelength options) and motorized lenses with autofocus to simplify setup and enable remote zoom/focus. SharpV supports multi-lane capture (dual-lane availability varies by region) and a 3–45 m capture range to cover everything from controlled driveways to higher-speed approaches. Processing is performed on the device with hardware-accelerated, machine-learning capabilities, and it can provide vehicle analytics such as vehicle type/colour, speed estimation, direction of travel, virtual loop, and plate origin—helping teams respond faster while reducing reliance on back-end compute for every analysis step. For deployment flexibility, it can stream H.264 video (and JPEG stills), connects via Gigabit Ethernet, is available in an optional 4G/LTE (Cat 4) model, includes 2 inputs/2 outputs for integration with devices like induction loops, and supports PoE++ (802.3bt Type 3) or 24 VDC power. It’s housed in an IP66/IP67-rated enclosure designed to operate from -40°C to 65°C, and it integrates into Genetec Security Center (AutoVu) to unify plate reads with video and broader security workflows.
