Vendor-neutral by design

We integrate multiple platforms, so we recommend Gallagher when Gallagher is the right answer — not because it is the only system we hold.

Commissioned, not just installed

Every deployment is commissioned and proven against your operational requirements before handover, then documented so your team can run it.

What Gallagher Security Systems Do

Gallagher security systems bring access control, intruder alarms and business policy into a single management platform called Command Centre. Rather than running separate systems for doors, alarms and site rules, one platform controls all three. So a single decision at the door can check a person’s credential, their training currency and their authorisation to be in that area at that time.

The practical difference is what happens when the network drops. Gallagher controllers hold their programming and keep enforcing your site rules locally, without a live connection back to the server. For sites where a communications outage cannot become a security outage, that behaviour is the reason Gallagher gets specified.

JD Security designs, installs, commissions and maintains these systems as a Gallagher Certified Channel Partner, working with organisations across Australia that need access control to be dependable rather than merely present.

Gallagher Command Centre

Command Centre is the software your security team actually works in. It combines cardholder management, alarm monitoring, site plans, reporting and building integration in one interface, so operators are not switching between systems during an incident.

Command Centre imports cardholder data from Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, or your HR system through REST APIs and keeps it current, removing the duplicate data entry that causes access errors. It assigns access rights by time of day, area, credential status and competency — inductions, licences, training and medical clearances — so a lapsed certification stops someone at the door rather than surfacing in an audit.

When something goes wrong, Command Centre supports one-button lockdown, evacuation reporting showing last known cardholder locations, and broadcast notifications by email, SMS or mobile app. Communication between the server and controllers uses AES encryption up to 256-bit.

Command Centre Mobile extends alarm management and overrides to phones, so guards spend more time on patrol than at a desk. Command Centre Web adds browser-based cardholder administration for reception and front-desk staff who need to issue a card but should not have access to alarm functions.

Controllers

Gallagher controllers sit between Command Centre and your field hardware, and they are where the system’s resilience lives. The Controller 7000 range operates independently of the server, enforcing access decisions, alarm responses and site policy even when the connection drops.

A single Controller 7000 supports up to 10 wired doors and 256 alarm zones, with capacity for 2,000,000 cardholders and 1,000,000 events held on the controller itself. Systems scale to up to 10,000 controllers per server, so the same architecture covers a single building and a national portfolio.

The range includes the Controller 7000 Standard, the Controller 7000 Single Door for expanding one door at a time over PoE, and the Controller 7000 Enhanced for sites wanting gigabit Ethernet, dual network paths, an in-service relay and temperature sensing. The Controller 7000 uses a dedicated secure element to hold cryptographic keys separately from the main processor, which is a meaningful hardening step against firmware and supply-chain attacks. The Controller 6000 remains supported for existing sites.

Where Gallagher Fits

Compliance is enforced at the door, not audited afterwards

If access needs to depend on inductions, licences, training currency or medical clearance, Command Centre’s competency model handles this natively rather than through workarounds.

The site cannot tolerate a server outage becoming a security outage

Controller-level policy enforcement means doors and alarms keep behaving correctly when the network doesn’t.

Multiple sites need shared cardholder data with local autonomy

Multi-server architecture supports peer-to-peer, hierarchical and star structures across geographically separated sites.

Access control and building services should be one system

BACnet and building management integration make lighting, HVAC and access a single operational picture.

Alarm management matters as much as access

Gallagher treats intruder alarms as a first-class function rather than an add-on, with encrypted sensor communications and arming/disarming through the T20 terminal.
