Avigilon H5A Corner Camera Overview
The Avigilon H5A Corner Camera is purpose-built for high-risk interior spaces—designed as an anti-ligature, no-grip corner-mounted unit that’s difficult to tamper with, detach, or disable, making it well suited to corrections, custody, healthcare, and other vulnerable areas. The range includes 3MP and 5MP models with a 3–9 mm varifocal lens (remote focus and zoom), delivering a wide, controllable field of view, plus strong image performance in tough lighting with WDR up to 126 dB (on) and low-light capability down to 0.027 lux (colour) / 0.014 lux (mono) and 0 lux with IR. For discreet night coverage, it uses high-power 940 nm “invisible” IR rated up to 15 m, and it can record audio via a built-in microphone (disable-able where required). Operationally, it reduces bandwidth and storage load with H.264/H.265 plus HDSM SmartCodec™, and it’s embedded with Next-Generation Video Analytics and Unusual Activity Detection, with support for higher-level Avigilon workflows such as Appearance Search™ and Facial Recognition (system dependent). Built for harsh treatment and wash-down environments, it’s IP67 water resistant and IK10+ impact rated, with a stainless-steel variant that carries a NEMA 4X enclosure rating for corrosion resistance; it’s also rated for continuous operation from −40°C to +55°C and supports enterprise deployment features including ONVIF Profile S/T/G/M and optional FIPS 140-2 compliant cryptography licensing.
