The Avigilon H5M is a cost-effective outdoor dome camera line designed for compact, vandal-resistant installations where you still need strong image quality and efficient recording. Available in 2 MP (up to 1920×1080) and 5 MP (up to 2592×1944), it uses a fixed 2.8 mm f/1.2 IR-corrected lens to deliver a wide scene view (up to 112° horizontal on 2 MP, and up to 104° horizontal on 5 MP), with LightCatcher™ low-light performance and dual-exposure WDR up to 110 dB to retain detail in mixed lighting like doorways, car parks, and loading docks. For night coverage, IR models include high-power 850 nm IR with up to 15 m illumination at 0 lux, plus automatic day/night switching. To reduce ongoing storage and bandwidth costs, the H5M supports H.264 and H.265 with HDSM SmartCodec™, multi-streaming, and idle scene mode, while its AI-based Unusual Motion Detection (UMD) helps flag unexpected activity beyond basic pixel motion.
