The Avigilon H6A Dual Head range is designed to eliminate blind spots in corridors, stairwells, corners and narrow walkways by combining two independently aimed sensors in a single camera, cutting down on hardware, cable runs and licensing compared with installing two separate cameras. The line is available in 6 MP, 10 MP and 16 MP total configurations (2×3 MP, 2×5 MP, 2×8 MP) using 1/2.8″ progressive-scan CMOS sensors, with varifocal 3.24–7.33 mm lenses per head and remote zoom/focus plus autofocus so you can precisely frame both directions during commissioning. For consistent performance day and night, it includes True WDR up to 120 dB, LightCatcher™ low-light optimisation, and built-in 850 nm IR with an up to 30 m range. On the Unity side, the camera supports efficient streaming and evidence capture with HDSM SmartCodec™ + idle scene mode, multi-stream H.264/H.265 (plus Motion JPEG), two microSD slots for edge storage, and a built-in microphone (with a physical disable switch) to support audio analytics and optional audio recording—all reinforced by enterprise hardening such as 802.1X, Secure Boot, signed/encrypted firmware, and an onboard FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified TPM. On the Alta side, the same dual-head hardware becomes a cloud-native solution for multi-site visibility, pairing real-time analytics with workflow tools like Smart Search, occupancy counting and people-flow heatmaps, plus automatic firmware updates, NDAA 2019 Section 889 compliance, and a limited 10-year warranty—while remaining rugged for harsh environments with IP66/67/68, IPX9K, IK10 and NEMA 4X protection and operation down to -40°C with PoE+.
