The AXIS D6310 is Axis Communications’ first standalone indoor air quality sensor — and it goes far beyond traditional vape detectors. Designed for environments where privacy regulations or policy make camera installation impractical, the D6310 detects vaping and smoking through particulate matter and VOC sensing, while simultaneously monitoring CO₂, NOx, temperature, humidity, and overall air quality index.

When thresholds are breached, the D6310 responds immediately — triggering its built-in speaker to play a pre-recorded warning message, activating its four multicolour LEDs as a visual deterrent, and pushing alerts to your VMS or notification platform. All this happens automatically, in real time, without any human operator needing to act first.

Built on AXIS OS and RESET® accredited, it integrates directly with Axis cameras, speakers, and third-party platforms via VAPIX, MQTT, SIP, and ACAP — making it a powerful addition to any existing Axis deployment.

Automated audio response

The built-in speaker plays pre-recorded warning messages automatically when vaping or an air quality threshold is detected — delivering an immediate, unmistakeable deterrent without operator intervention.

4-colour LED visual alerts

Red, yellow, green, and blue multicolour LEDs provide instant, at-a-glance status indicators for building occupants and security staff — configurable to trigger based on detection events or air quality levels.

AXIS Audio Analytics — AI-powered

Preinstalled AXIS Audio Analytics uses AI to detect critical sounds — screams, shouts, breaking glass — and measures sound pressure level (SPL) for noise monitoring alongside air quality data.

PIR presence detection

An onboard PIR sensor detects occupancy, enabling context-aware responses — for example, only activating audio deterrents when a person is confirmed present at the time of detection.

Privacy-first design

No camera. The microphone can be disabled via a physical hardware switch — making the D6310 fully compliant for deployment in bathrooms, changing rooms, and other privacy-protected areas where cameras are prohibited.

Live dashboard & VMS integration

A virtual stream lets operators view live air quality data and visualise measurements in a dashboard through a web browser or any compatible VMS — with no additional licences or data processing fees.

PoE powered with passthrough

The D6310 is powered via a single PoE cable, with a second Ethernet port for PoE passthrough — allowing a second IP device (such as a camera or speaker) to be powered from the same cable drop.

Open platform integration

Supports integration with AXIS cameras, strobe sirens, speakers, and third-party systems via VAPIX, MQTT, SIP, and ACAP. Compatible with AXIS Audio Manager for zone-based scheduling and content delivery.

365-day data export

Export up to 12 months of sensor statistics as a CSV file for use in Excel, reporting platforms, or compliance documentation — supporting long-term air quality planning and regulatory evidence.
