Metadata output (for smarter search/filtering in VMS): classes can include humans, faces, vehicles, license plates, with attributes such as vehicle colour and clothing colour (where applicable).

AXIS I8116-E: Compact IP Video Intercom for Secure Entry

AXIS I8116-E is an outdoor-ready, mullion-mount network video intercom (available in white or black) designed to both manage visitors and record activity at the door—even where space is tight (the unit is only 48 mm wide). It combines a 5 MP camera (up to 2592 × 1944) with an ultra-wide field of view (about 162°), plus WDR and Lightfinder for clearer identification in challenging lighting (down to 0.15 lux in colour, and 0 lux with LED lit). For bandwidth and storage efficiency it supports H.264/H.265 and Axis Zipstream, while built-in full-duplex two-way audio with echo cancellation, noise reduction and beamforming helps conversations stay natural in noisy entry areas. On the access side, it supports remote entry control/lock integration, and can connect an OSDP reader via the I/O connector for tighter access control integration. For integration, it supports SIP and open standards like ONVIF, and it includes a DLPU with AXIS Object Analytics preinstalled (human/vehicle classification) plus ACAP support for additional apps. Security and resilience are built in with Axis Edge Vault (including secure boot and signed OS), edge storage to microSD/NAS, and robust environmental ratings (IP65 / NEMA 4X / IK08, -30°C to 60°C) with PoE for simple single-cable install.
