AXIS Q1961-XTE: Explosion-Protected Thermometric Thermal Camera
The AXIS Q1961-XTE is an explosion-protected, Zone 2/Division 2 certified thermal camera built for hazardous industrial sites, with variants available at 30 fps or 8.3 fps (export-control compliant) while keeping the same core capabilities. It uses an uncooled microbolometer (384×288, 17 μm, 8–14 μm) and can scale video up to 768×576, delivering dependable detection in total darkness, smoke, glare, and difficult lighting where standard cameras struggle. With a 7 mm athermalized lens and 55° horizontal field of view, plus electronic image stabilization (EIS), it suits wide coverage zones and vibrating plant environments. As a thermometric camera, it measures absolute temperatures from -40°C to 350°C, supports spot temperature reading and up to 10 polygonal detection areas, and can trigger events when temperatures cross thresholds or change too quickly—ideal for early warning and condition monitoring. Powered by ARTPEC-8 with a DLPU, it supports edge analytics (including options such as Fence Guard, Loitering Guard, Motion Guard, and Video Motion Detection, with Perimeter Defender supported) and is secured with Axis Edge Vault features like secure boot, signed OS, secure keystore, signed video, and an encrypted filesystem, alongside enterprise network security controls (e.g., 802.1X, TLS, MACsec, host-based firewall). Designed for harsh outdoor installations, it’s rated IP66/IP67, NEMA 4X, and IK10, and is backed by a 5-year warranty.
