The AXIS S4000 Rack Recorder is a compact, silent 1U rack NVR supporting up to 16 video channels, available in three surveillance-grade storage variants — 8TB, 16TB, and 32TB — with all video encrypted both at rest and in transit, and multiple RAID configurations (levels 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10) to minimise recording gaps, downtime, and data loss. Built on AXIS OS and designed according to the Axis Security Development Model (ASDM), it offers FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified cryptographic key storage — the highest security certification in the Axis recorder range — and is both NDAA compliant and produced in a TAA-designated country. Unlike the S30 series, the S4000 has no built-in PoE switch and instead works with both Axis and third-party network switches, making it straightforward to integrate into existing IT infrastructure without reconfiguration. It supports USB 3.0 for local footage export, dual RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet, and an SFP Gigabit interface, and is fully compatible with both AXIS Camera Station Edge and AXIS Camera Station Pro — adding distributed storage to single or multi-site deployments without increasing load on the central server.
