ALPR without the infrastructure
The Genetec Cloudrunner CR-H2 is a purpose-built, solar-powered automatic licence plate recognition (ALPR) camera designed for rapid, infrastructure-free deployment. Unlike fixed ALPR systems that require power reticulation, network cabling, and server infrastructure, the CR-H2 runs entirely on solar and battery power, transmitting data over 4G/LTE to Genetec’s cloud for processing.
Powered by Genetec’s AutoVu Machine Learning Core (MLC), the CR-H2 goes far beyond plate capture. It is a full vehicle-centric investigation system (VCIS) — identifying vehicle colour, make, type, speed, and direction of travel, enabling investigators to narrow searches even when plate information is incomplete or unavailable.
All it needs is a pole and 4G coverage. JD Security handles the rest.

Vehicle make, colour & type
Each read captures vehicle make, colour, and type — enabling investigators to narrow searches when a plate is partially obscured, misread, or unavailable.
Speed estimation & direction of travel
Behaviour analytics detect vehicle speed and direction, supporting investigations into high-speed incidents, pursuits, and hit-and-run scenarios.
Hotlist alerts & watchlists
Cross-reference every read against custom or shared hotlists in real time. Receive instant alerts when a vehicle of interest is detected, enabling immediate intervention.
Cloud-based investigation dashboard
Access all vehicle data via the Cloudrunner web dashboard — search by plate, colour, make, date, location, or behaviour. Filter results without a complete plate number.
Geolocation tagging
Every read is tagged with GPS coordinates and a timestamp, building a precise location history of vehicle movements across your entire camera network.
Evidence sharing via Genetec Clearance
Share vehicle-based evidence securely with authorised parties — including law enforcement — directly through Genetec Clearance, the digital evidence management system.
Security Center integration
CR-H2 plate reads feed directly into Genetec Security Center for organisations already running Synergis access control or Omnicast VMS, extending their existing ALPR capability.
Privacy by design
