Critical Infrastructure
Utilities, data centres and other regulated operators use Gallagher to govern who reaches critical assets, with the audit trail their obligations demand.
JD Security designs, installs, commissions and maintains Gallagher access control systems for organisations across Australia and New Zealand. Gallagher Certified Channel Partner. Operating since 1984.
Gallagher access control is an enterprise access control platform built on Command Centre software, Controller 7000 hardware and the T-Series reader range. Together, they manage who can enter each area of your site, when, and under what conditions—from a single door to a national portfolio administered from one cardholder database.
Two design decisions set Gallagher apart. First, controllers make and enforce access decisions, not the server. If the network or the connection to the server drops, Gallagher controllers hold their programming and keep applying your site rules locally — a communications outage does not become a security outage.
Second, access can depend on more than a valid credential. Command Centre’s competency model checks inductions, licences and training currency at the moment of entry. As a result, a lapsed certification stops a person at the door rather than surfacing in an audit weeks later.
Gallagher Security develops the platform in New Zealand and deploys it worldwide, including at some of Australia’s most closely governed sites. JD Security designs, installs, commissions and maintains Gallagher access control as a Certified Channel Partner across Australia and New Zealand.
Command Centre is where your team manages the system day-to-day — cardholders, access groups, doors, schedules, reporting, and site plans in one interface.
It connects to the systems you already run. Command Centre imports cardholder data from Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta or your HR platform and keeps it current, removing the duplicate data entry that causes access errors and orphaned credentials. Access rights can be assigned by area, time of day, credential status and competency — inductions, licences and training — so authorisation reflects reality, not last quarter’s spreadsheet.
When something goes wrong, Command Centre supports one-button lockdown across selected doors or the whole site.
Different roles get different tools. Command Centre Web gives reception and front-desk staff browser-based cardholder administration without exposing wider system functions, and Command Centre Mobile puts cardholder checks and door overrides on a phone for staff who are rarely at a desk.
Sites that need to enforce compliance at the door, not audit it afterwards.
If access should depend on inductions, licences or training currency, Command Centre’s competency model handles it natively.
Organisations that cannot let an outage become a security incident.
Controller-level enforcement keeps doors behaving correctly when the network or server does not.
Multi-site operations that want one cardholder database with local autonomy.
One credential, consistent rules and central reporting across geographically separated sites.
Teams moving to mobile credentials at their own pace.
Cards, phones and Apple Wallet badges run side by side on the same readers.
Existing Gallagher sites planning their next step.
Controller 6000 estates upgrade to Controller 7000 hardware in the same footprint, protecting the original investment.
Utilities, data centres and other regulated operators use Gallagher to govern who reaches critical assets, with the audit trail their obligations demand.
Campuses manage staff, students, contractors and after-hours community use on one platform — with lockdown capability when it matters most.
Access has to hold on every shift. Medication rooms, records and staff-only areas stay restricted without slowing the clinical staff who need them.
Base building and tenancy access on one system, with tenant administration delegated safely through Command Centre Web.
Gallagher Access Control is an enterprise access control platform that combines Command Centre software, Controller 7000 hardware, T-Series readers, and card or mobile credentials. It manages who can enter each area of a site, when, and under what conditions, and enforces those rules at the door—even if the network connection drops.
Plus installation conditions such as cabling routes and existing infrastructure. A single-building system and a multi-site rollout are very different projects. JD Security scopes and prices the complete system, including licensing, during the design stage.
Controllers hold their programming, enforce your site rules locally, and store up to 1,000,000 events until the connection returns, when everything synchronises automatically.
Usually, yes. T-Series readers support MIFARE DESFire EV3, EV2, and EV1; MIFARE Plus; MIFARE Classic; and 125 kHz proximity formats simultaneously, so existing cards can keep working during a staged migration to more secure credentials. We confirm compatibility during design.
Over Bluetooth or NFC, staff on Apple devices can add an employee badge in Apple Wallet. Mobile and physical credentials run side by side so that you can adopt phones gradually rather than all at once.
Command Centre is the platform’s management software for cardholders, doors, schedules, reporting, and integrations in one interface. Licensing depends on system size, features and client access, and it changes as Gallagher’s offering evolves, so JD Security includes current licensing in every proposal rather than quoting generic figures here.
And the Controller 7000 shares the same footprint, so sites typically upgrade progressively — often reusing cabinets, cabling and readers. We map an upgrade path during the design stage.
