AXIS Q16 Series
Low-Light & Wide Dynamic Range Cameras for Indoor & Outdoor Use
AXIS Q16 cameras are equipped with unique Lightfinder technology that makes them sensitive to low light, enabling them to ‘see’ in the dark. They also feature Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) with ‘dynamic capture’ for homogeneous images without parts that are too bright or too dark.
The series offers high-performance surveillance for both indoor and outdoor settings, with cameras that have resolutions ranging from HDTV 720p to 4K Ultra HD. The AXIS Q1659 model, for instance, offers up to 20-megapixel resolution. Other models like the AXIS Q1615-LE Mk III and AXIS Q1656-DLE provide 2MP and 4MP resolutions respectively.
The series boasts low-light sensitivity and clear images in challenging lighting conditions thanks to Lightfinder technology and WDR. Some models even come with Lightfinder 2.0 technology, which captures forensic images in low-light scenes.

The cameras are equipped with Axis’ proprietary ARTPEC chip for advanced video processing and analytics, supporting advanced analytics functions such as video motion detection, audio detection, and tampering alarm. Some models even support advanced analytics based on deep learning on the edge.
Outdoor-ready models are enclosed in robust, impact-resistant IK10-rated casings, with IP66, IP67, NEMA 4X, and NEMA TS2 ratings, making them water-resistant and weatherproof. Certain models also feature Axis’ unique Arctic Temperature Control, allowing them to operate in frigid temperatures.
Other features include easy installation with remote back focus, local storage with SD/SDHC memory card slots, and RJ-45 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX PoE for connectivity. Built-in cybersecurity features are included to prevent unauthorized access and safeguard the system.
The AXIS Q16 series also supports the AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) version 4 for tailor-made applications based on deep learning on the edge. Some models come with OptimizedIR for surveillance in complete darkness, and they all have features such as electronic image stabilization and two-way audio.
Overall, the AXIS Q16 series is an adaptable and robust solution for demanding surveillance applications, focusing on high image quality, adaptability to various lighting conditions, and advanced security and analytics capabilities.
